A not too distant relative of the popular AirFit N30i, the ResMed AirFit P30i is a nasal pillow mask that aims to outshine its predecessor. And boy, did it have big shoes to fill!
Designed to provide a natural sleep environment, this mask intends to keep you comfortable at all times. With a hollow and flexible frame, it is perfect for active sleepers while also being minimally intrusive so you can still read a book or watch TV while wearing the mask thanks to its open field of vision.
Many users have praised ResMed for the introduction of this nasal pillow mask especially the addition of the pillow cushions. These pillow cushions provide easier breathing and a snugger seal fit for some patients. While others have coined it as the quietest CPAP mask on the market.
Let’s delve a little deeper into the AirFit P30i and see if these claims really are true.
First, let’s look at the top features of this nasal CPAP mask. Like with all ResMed masks, a lot of thought and consideration has gone into the design of the AirFit P30i to improve the ease of use and comfort for the Sleep Apnea patient.
This nasal pillow CPAP mask promises to deliver the following to its customers:
As the N30i is considered as one of our top-rated CPAP masks, we were curious to see exactly how the AirFit P30i stacked up in comparison.
At first glance, there doesn’t seem to be many differences between these two masks. They are both designed with the same headgear, frame, strap and elbow connection. Both Sleep Apnea masks are inclusive of all sleeping positions and operate below 24 decibels for a peaceful night of sleep.
Where the difference really lies is the design of the cushion. The P30i’s pillow style cushion makes a seal inside the nostrils, whereas the N30i creates a seal underneath the nostrils. Some CPAP users have noted that the pillow cushions of the AirFit P30i provide a more comfortable seal and allow them to breathe more easily.
However, if your CPAP pressure is set quite high than this mask type won’t be for you. The good news is that the cushions of both the N30i and P30i are completely interchangeable.
Overall, both masks are quite similar but where the AirFit P30i truly wins out is how quiet it is. Operating at 3 decibels quieter than the AirFit N30i, if you’re a noise-sensitive person who truly wants to hear only the faintest hum as the air circulates through your mask, the P30i nasal pillow mask won’t disappoint.

As you may have already guessed, our team is a longtime fan of ResMed equipment. Many of our staff members have used the AirFit N30i before and were looking forward to getting to try the P30i version for themselves.
As a nasal CPAP mask, it is comfortable and one of the quietest on the market especially in comparison to Dreamwear or Swift FX. In terms of price, it is slightly more expensive than other nasal pillow masks we carry. However, for the ease of use and flexible mobility that it provides, for some of you, it may be worth the price tag.
There is a con to this mask, and it's not related to fit or comfort. The fitpack packaging is not very eco-friendly. If you already know your size, receiving extra cushions you cannot use and will have to dispose of can be bad for the environment.
Our final verdict is that if you’re looking for a nasal pillow CPAP mask that provides a great seal, will allow you to move around as much as you like during the night without the risk of mask leakage and is super quiet then you can’t go wrong by giving the ResMed AirFit P30i a try.
